lululemon joins World Wellbeing Movement

Technical athletic apparel brand lululemon becomes a Premium Member of the World Wellbeing Movement.

The World Wellbeing Movement is delighted to welcome technical athletic apparel brand lululemon as its newest member organisation.

The Canada-based, Nasdaq-listed multinational joins a Movement of like-minded businesses, philanthropic organisations and research organisations with the common goal of putting wellbeing at the heart of decision-making in both business and public policy.

Founding members of the World Wellbeing Movement include global brands such as HSBC, the McKinsey Health Insitute, S&P Global and Unilever, among others. The Wellbeing Research Centre at the University of Oxford serves as the Movement’s academic partner.

lululemon’s membership is enabled by a grant from the lululemon Centre for Social Impact, which is committed to wellbeing for all by leveraging expertise, resources and communities to invest in, and advocate for, the wellbeing of those most impacted by systemic inequity. It aims to positively impact 10 million people by 2025.

“Together we will advance solutions to improve wellbeing for all globally.”

Sarah Cunningham, Managing Director of the World Wellbeing Movement, said: “We are delighted to welcome lululemon as the latest member of the World Wellbeing Movement, and feel fortunate to partner with an organisation whose values align so closely with our mission of putting wellbeing first.

“From our early discussions it has been clear that lululemon understand the importance of high-end, science-based research to gain a better understanding into how to improve wellbeing, both within the workplace, and beyond; and perhaps more importantly, of disseminating those insights widely in order to create positive impact at scale.

“We feel a sense of immense gratitude for the support and partnership of our like-minded members as well as for the thought leadership of our academic partner at the University of Oxford’s Wellbeing Research Centre. It is only through this unique collaboration between thought leaders and changemakers that we can achieve our ambitious mission and create a better world where we put wellbeing first for all.”

Anne Wintroub, Head of lululemon’s Centre for Social Impact, said: “At lululemon, we believe that physical, mental, and social wellbeing are core to reaching one’s full potential. We are excited to partner and invest in the amazing work led by the World Wellbeing Movement. Together we will advance solutions to improve wellbeing for all globally.”

Founded in July 2022, the World Wellbeing Movement has already enabled far-reaching impact through its involvement with Indeed’s Work Wellbeing Score, the largest study of workplace wellbeing in the world; and by providing justification for the inclusion of science-based employee wellbeing measures within S&P Global’s Corporate Sustainability Assessment, completed by more than 13,000 organisations globally.

The World Wellbeing Movement’s founders include Professor Lord Richard Layard and Professor Jan-Emmanuel De Neve, both editors of the World Happiness Report and considered global leaders in the science of wellbeing.
